Rob Horrocks
Fight Science Head Coach - Muay Thai, Kickboxing & BoxingStarting combat sports from an early age I first stepped into the ring to compete in Muay Thai at the age of 11. I continued to peruse the competitive side of stand up striking into my adult life competing in boxing, Muay Thai and glory rules style kick boxing.
As an amateur and junior I won multiple British championship tittles in different weight categories as well as a European championship title and then went onto win English and area championship titles as a professional.
Combat sports have given me discipline and determination which I use in my daily life, as a coach I enjoy passing these life skills onto my students and pushing them towards their personal goals weather it be in boxing, Muay Thai or outside of the gym.“Good, better, best. Never let it rest. ‘Til your good is better and your better is best.”

Boxing CoachFrom a young age to lates teens I travelled the world living in some amazing places but I always knew that one day I would return to Queenstown. My main focus at school was rugby, I played for the under 20’s Philippines rugby team and travelled internationally. A long with track & field, baseball, basketball and Volleyball, sport has always been a prime focus in anything I do.
At 19 I picked up the boxing gloves and found my career path swaying towards health and fitness. Specialising over the years in functional weights programming, postural corrective training and anything boxing specific. My goal is to help my clients build a healthy relationship with fitness.
I fought in amateur boxing and had 22 fights whilst living in Australia. I won myself the state title of Victoria 2018 and made it to the nationals placing 3rd in Australia that year. I travelled to Boston, USA and completed a 5 week training camp with world renown boxing coach Alex Rivera and world top ranked welterweight Rashidi Ellis. In 2019 I made it to the 2019 Olympic National Trials.
I have now taken a step back from competing to focus on coaching – working with amateur and professional fighters as well as being a personal trainer. No matter the method of training, stepping into a gym can be intimidating but with the right guidance and approach – I believe it can truly be rewarding. “Don’t count the days, make the days count”

Boxfit Coach / Personal TrainerI arrived in Queenstown in 2017 on an overnight decision to start a new adventure. With no direction, familiar faces, or place to live, I naturally ended up at the gym… the one place I knew what to do. After a couple weeks I was approached to join the crew, and have not looked back since. This gym has become my playground, and this team has become my family. I test my limits every day and do things that scare me. If I’m not up in the mountains or trying to dodge punches in the ring, you can find my friendly face behind the desk, ready to help people achieve their goals. “Great things never come from comfort zones”

Muay Thai Coach / Personal TrainerHi, I am Yoshi, I have been in Queenstown since 2009, originally from Tokyo, Japan and moved to Queenstown when I was 17 years old.
After 11 years in the hospitality industry while competing as a Muay Thai & Kickboxing fighter, I decided to leave the Knives and apron behind for a new career in fitness.
My passion is to give a positive impact on people’s lives. Helping them become happier and healthier through fitness, whilst making the training as fun as possible for them. I truly believe that everyone deserves to be healthy and to be confident and happy with themselves inside and out. If I could even be just a little bit of a help to positively change people’s lives, I would be happy and that is the biggest reward I can get from training my clients.
